Safer chemical tanker loading
Wherever tankers are loaded whether with chemicals, oils, sludges and slurries, the prevention of over-filling and spills is a constant concern: the new Contrec Meterwin system has the answer
Wherever tankers are loaded whether with chemicals, oils, sludges and slurries, the prevention of over-filling and spills is a constant concern Whilst many loading systems have clever interlocks to detect overfill, the risk is best minimised by making sure that it is impossible to pre-select more fluid than the barrel or compartment has the capacity to carry safely

Tank contents monitoring in a hazardous area
Whats in that tank? Picture the scene; it's a big tank farm, it's a hazardous area, we need accurate tank contents gauging, local displays and alarms: the Contrec 220 tank contents indicator is ideal
The new Contrec Meterwin system allows the operator to pre-programme the barrel or compartment capacity into a database.
By using touch sensors or pin numbers to recognise the tanker, it becomes impossible to overload or overfill.
Further security is provided by using touch sensors to authorise the driver or operator.
The system allows for the load to be pre-scheduled on a standard office based PC.
The load then can only be loaded in accordance with the information that has been pre-scheduled.
Where additives are to be added to the load, these too can be pre-configured.
Once the loading is complete, a fully detailed ADR compliant transport document (Bill of Lading) is printed which include all the required UN and Hazchem data.
Meterwin can control up to sixty four 1010 load computers, each of which can handle between one and eight loading arms thus allowing multi-compartment vehicles to be loaded simultaneously and on the same Bill of Lading.
With many chemicals and petroleum products it is desirable to be able to reconcile tank stocks with the deliveries, Meterwin plus accepts inputs from a variety of tank gauging systems.
Reports can be generated by product, by truck, by company and by driver.
Unlike many DCS systems, it is possible to revert to manual loading in the event of a PC or communications failure.
A Meterwin demo programme is available on the Contrec CD or alternatively contact us for a full demonstration.
