It will offer manufacturers the chance to learn from their peers and share their own best practice, and will culminate in the prestigious Manufacturer Awards.
The Manufacturer Live 2005 builds on the success of the 2004 event which attracted more than 2000 company delegates.
The presentations and exhibitions will be based around the 'seven pillars' of production excellence: leadership and strategy, world class manufacturing, design and innovation, skills and HR, logistics and supply chain, IT and infrastructure, and manufacturing operations.
Glen White, group chief executive of Conquest Business Media, organisers of the event and publishers of 'The Manufacturer' magazine, said he was looking forward to an event bigger and better than last year's.
'We have heard a lot of bad news about manufacturing this year, with the collapse of MG Rover and the associated pain within the supply chain, and the drop in manufacturing output, not to mention the assault on our country's industry by cheap imports from China and other countries with low cost labour.
But this event is the other side of the coin,' he said.
'This is all about lean and hungry manufacturers building on their strengths, seeking out new opportunities, and celebrating success.
There is no better way to share best practice than to put 2000 people with a common interest together to talk about how they are competing with the best in the world.
This is manufacturing's biggest ever education opportunity,' he added.
He said the event was growing in stature and popularity against the trend of others.
'It is an undeniable fact that numbers attending trade shows in this sector are falling.
However, The Manufacturer Live is bucking that trend with audience increases of 40% year on year.
This clearly demonstrates that more and more UK manufacturers are responding to global challenges by sharing and embracing best practice'.
Andy Martin, head of UK Manufacturing at Barclays Bank said the bank was delighted to be the corporate sponsor of The Manufacturer Live 2005.
'As the leading bank covering the UK manufacturing industry, we are committed to helping the industry grow and remain competitive on a global scale.
We believe The Manufacturer Live is the perfect forum for people who share both this commitment and the desire to promote and share best practice.
This year's event is particularly important given the current challenges facing the industry, and we are very pleased to be associated with it'.
Confirmed speakers at the event include Alastair Reid of BAE Systems, Dawn Gibbons, chairman of Flowcrete, Derek Thomason, general manager of Unipart, Tony Lorne of Airbus UK, Nigel Wood of Boots, Mike Frichol of Microsoft, Neil Eardley from Siemens and Lawrence Jenkins from Rolls Royce procurement.
There will also be presentations by senior people from Linklockers, ECV Technologies, Aeromet, Weir Pumps, Hamworthy Combustion, Red Bull Racing, Johnson, Richco and Snap On Tools.
The Manufacturer Live 2005 will also host three Industry Forums led by the SMMT Industry Forum and Accelerate for the automotive industry, SBAC for aerospace and PICME for the process industry.
The event concludes with The Manufacturer Awards 2005, a benchmark awards programme recognising excellence in the seven pillars of manufacturing, with additional sector awards for automotive, aerospace and the process industries.
The awards will be presented at a 450 seat gala dinner.
The major award is for Manufacturer of the Year, which was won last year by BAE Systems, Edinburgh.
