The Colder Products Company new NS6 Series non-spill coupling features non-spill shut-off valves that enhance operator safety, speed connection time, and reduce cleaning procedures

Colder Products Company (CPC), the leading provider of controlled performance connections to chemical, medical, industrial, and printing markets, introduces its new NS6 Series non-spill coupling at Chem Show 2003, Javits Convention Center, New York City at booth 1767 The patent-pending NS6 features non-spill shut-off valves that enhance operator safety, speed connection time, and reduce cleaning procedures

The NS6 distinct non-spill valve design makes the product applicable for use in printing and labelling, chemical handling, electronic cooling, instrumentation, and medical applications.

The non-spill coupling provides a lightweight, durable, compact and economical replacement for metal non-spill couplings, ball valves, and fittings.

"The NS6 achieves 40 percent more flow, withstands twice the pressure and results in less spillage as compared to the CPC polypropylene HFC-12 series," said Patrick Williams, Market and Product Planning Manager, CPC.

"The product's non-spill functionality significantly reduces costly media loss, time-consuming clean up, and risk to operators associated with various media leaks and spills".

The NS6 is the third in a series of new non-spill couplings.

It follows the recently released compact NS4 series and high-flow NSH series.

The new non-spill coupling is made from glass-filled polypropylene with 316 stainless steel springs and EPDM or optional FKM O-ring seals, providing high resistance to a wide variety of corrosive media.

The NS6 olefinic overmoulding increases the durability of the connection and provides a better grip for users.

The overmoulding is also used for colour-coding, which provides instant visual differentiation of diverse media lines.

As with all CPC connection solutions, the NS6 incorporates an easy-to-use thumb latch to allow for secure, single-handed operation.

An audible "click" confirms that a secure connection is made.

The new non-spill connection can withstand operating pressures from vacuum to 120 psig (8.3 bar) and temperatures from 32F to 120F (0C to 49C).

The coupling features terminations of 0.5 inch OD compression; 3/8 inch and 0.5 inch ID hose barb; and 0.5 inch male NPT thread and 0.5 inch male BSPT thread.

Mounting options include in-line, pipe thread, and sealing panel mount.
