Function Block
The Controlstar AGA8 Function block uses the 'Detailed characterisation method' which has been validated against the AGA standard, and can collect live data direct from a Daniel gas chromatograph

Instant critical level data with MicroControlstar
Use a pre-configured SCADA master station, one solar or battery powered Micro Controlstar remote level monitor, and a high quality level sensor with a 15m cable to start your tank data system
The AGA3 Function block has also been extended to support the Rosemount Annubar flow element, which offers a high turn down ratio for the accurate measurement of flow, even in less than ideal conditions.
The 10,000 psi separation process will be controlled by a single Controlstar; the unit will also provide flow measurement using AGA8 and an associated Gas Chromatograph.
The Controlstar includes a special function block for calculating the velocities for erosion monitoring; this uses AGA8 to accurately establish velocities at a number of points in the process.
The SCADA then provides a simple 'expert' system to continuously advise the operators of the preferred control settings.
