Even when its infrared signal is 90% obscured by dirt and moisture, the detector will continue to operate.
Nimbus can be easily incorporated into existing safety installations.
Analogue signalling is provided by an industry standard 4-20 mA output, and where "pellistor" type detectors have been previously used, this can be converted using an optional pellistor mimic to remove the need for upgraded cabling.
Alternatively, a Modbus serial link allows integration into existing SCADA and DCS systems.
Designed for on-site configuration and checking by a single operator, Nimbus is compatible with Windows, allowing data exchange in the field via a laptop PC.
For status checking at a glance, an external flashing signal shows whether the detector is functioning normally, in alarm, or subject to a fault.
Independently tested and approved by a major oil company, Nimbus contains an innovative optical layout which provides high signal strength, while combating the problem of "zero drift" associated with other types of infrared detector.
A "dirty optics" warning signal is triggered when signal obscuration reaches 75%, alerting the user to the need for cleaning.
Sealed to IP66/67, the detector is supplied with a removable weather shield to provide additional protection against rainwater, sea spray and other contaminants.
The design of the weather shield allows gas ingress from any direction, regardless of the detector's orientation. Request a free brochure from Crowcon Detection Instruments ...
