Training in Solid Phase Extraction procedures

A Chromsolutions product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Jan 25, 2007

ChromSolutions offer training courses for analytical chemists and technicians interested in learning more about the use of Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) procedures as a sample preparation technique

Available from ChromSolutions are a variety of training courses to suit the needs of analytical chemists and technicians interested in learning more or getting an update about the use of Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) procedures as a sample preparation technique.

These one day SPE courses are tailored to cover a wide variety of topics that encompasses pharmaceutical, clinical, forensic, soil water and food applications.

The use of more efficient sample preparation techniques can prolong the life of expensive analytical columns and reduce instrument down time by removing harmful sample matrix constituents particularly where bio-fluid food and tissue samples need to be processed and analysed.

Replacing more solvent intensive methods with for example an SPE alternative is also beneficial in terms of health and safety added to cost savings in terms of solvent purchase and its subsequent disposal.

These one day courses cover the basics of SPE theory and practice for approximately half a day followed by half a day on the application of interest.

Automation of SPE for all application areas is also discussed along with new developments of the technology such as molecular imprinted polymers (Mips) and polymer phases for bespoke applications.
