The Geometric Process Control paper was a popular choice for recognition by the conference, given the fact that it is such a powerful technology and so extensively used.
The fact that tools based on GPC can work with real variables and deliver usable results make it massively beneficial in any process industry'.
A modest Dr Robin Brooks was grateful for the recognition, but said 'This is not so much a prize for my presentation skills, but for the fact that the process industry is amazed by how easy process control can be using Geometric Process Control technology.
The audience could relate very easily to how GPC can be used to achieve better process control without all the fuss offered by complicated mathematical and statistical tools available today'.
APC8 was held over two days at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in York.
The conference hosted over twenty presentations by professionals in the process industry and was attended by more than sixty delegates from the industry.
It was co-sponsored by other professional bodies with an interest in the subject.
