A fine way to achieve superfines, dating from 1886
New technology has been developed in an effort to improve the production process of superfine powders, introducing a practical planetary centrifugal mill!
The key unit is a continuous action planetary centrifugal mill but Cyclotec has also developed matched classifiers and a new generation of long life hydrocyclones with efficiencies in the range 0.85 - 0.95.
The 1.5t/hr prototype PCM grinds to less than 5 micron (with 30% of the product at 1 micron) in open circuit and to much less than a micron in closed circuit, says Cyclotec.
The machine regularly achieves 30g acceleration and has recorded 300g.
The company expects the next version to operate at 90g and higher.
Cyclotec sees major applications in milling low-grade and reject minerals and in production of high performance binders and foam concrete for construction.
To progress Mr Akkerman and his technical co-directors seek a strategic partner able to invest, assist in the patenting process and facilitate marketing worldwide.
