A leading food company manufacturing frozen and chilled savoury and patisserie products has chosen a dataTaker data logging system to maintain the quality of their products and their success in supplying many well-known retail and commercial organisations.

Progressive manufacturing methods and manufacturing facilities ensures accreditations and Quality and Food Safety issues are met.

To maintain their level of commitment, the company purchased a dataTaker data logging system from one of the dataTaker official distributors, Integrated Data Logging Solutions (IDLS) based in Northamptonshire.

The system is installed in separate manufacturing units and comprises one Ethernet wired DT50 data logger, and three dataTaker DT50s connected via radio modem to the company's central unit.

The dataTaker loggers use Type T and Type K thermocouples and monitor the temperature of freezers, chillers, blast freezers, ovens and ambient air temperature.

The company no longer have to take measurements manually, and are now confident that there are no temperature variances that might cause a costly problem, either to their products, quality standards, or reputation.

The dataTaker DT50 system was chosen due to its robust construction, reliability, easy to use software and set-up, combined with good prices.

Instead of using manual checks the company are now able to monitor their facilities remotely, in real-time, to ensure all systems remain within pre-set parameters and thereby maintain quality standards.

The DT50 datalogger features up to 10 analogue channels, 8 digital and counter channels.

The amount of data points that can be recorded are approximately 165,000.

Replaceable internal lithium batteries ensuring that no data or programming is ever lost due to low battery or power failure.

SRAM PC card memory support can be upgraded to 4Mb for greater flexibility and improved speed of operation.

Flash memory firmware is simpler to upgrade as it can be actioned direct from the PC for greater convenience and time saving.

Used throughout manufacturing and process control, dataTaker data acquisition systems monitor and alarm all types of testing, quality control, energy and environmental levels in chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, HVAC, building management, bulk storage and public utilities.
