These compact motors combine the performance advantages of frameless direct drive motors with the ease of installation of a full-frame motor, at a significantly lower cost than standard direct drive

These compact motors represent a completely new category of direct drive technology that combines the performance advantages of frameless direct drive motors with the ease of installation of a full-frame motor, and at a significantly lower cost than conventional direct drive technology CE marked and UL listed for global application, Cartridge DDR motors feature pre-engineered components, an integrated, factory-aligned high resolution feedback device and a unique bearing-less design that facilitates 'mount and run' operation in under than 30 minutes - compared to weeks, or even months of design and integration time common to existing frameless direct drive systems

Cartridge DDR motors also feature an advanced electromagnetic design that provides up to 50% more torque density than conventional servomotors of comparable size.

Conventional servo systems typically include a number of mechanical transmission components that limit the performance and reliability, driving up the cost of operation of these systems.

Cartridge DDR motors eliminate all mechanical transmission parts resulting in: Simplified installation (<30 minutes) - just mount motor and connect cables: Increased machine uptime by virtue of maintenance-free operation: Quieter operation by eliminating the transmission (up to 20db reduction): Increased accuracy (up to 50 times greater):Zero maintenance - no life cycle cost.

Because of their unique low-cost design, Cartridge DDR motors are competitively priced when compared to traditional servo systems with mechanical transmissions.

Even with a slightly higher initial cost, if amortised over a 5-year period of use Cartridge DDR motors will reduce operating costs by more than GBP5,300 on a single axis of motion when compared to conventional systems.

Danaher Motion believes the lower cost of entry coupled with the greater lifecycle savings offered by the Cartridge DDR motor will accelerate the adoption of direct drive technology for new machine designs in industries such as converting, packaging, printing, semiconductor and factory automation.

Cartridge DDR motors are available in two frame sizes, with three stack lengths per frame.

Voltage ratings are available in 230V, 400V, and 480V for maximum design flexibility and robust operation.

They provide 50 to 510Nm continuous torque, peak torque to 1100Nm, and speeds to 1200 rpm.
