Detector Electronics has entered into an agreement with MTL Open System Technologies to work together to provide integrated fire and gas and process control systems and offer customers a comprehensive fire and gas safety solution for high hazard applications.

The partnership means that both companies will expand their capabilities, according to the announcement from the companies' USA headquarters.

Det-Tronics is the market leading producer of optical flame detection and gas detection systems and MOST is a leading supplier of open hardware and software control components for the process automation market.

Det-Tronics will now be able to incorporate MOST logic controllers, process I/Os and logic control software with its flame and gas detectors to provide a complete point-to-point wired fire and gas protection system.

Similarly, the MOST open system component offering will extend from the process control industry place into also encompassing fire and gas protection.
