Digi International demonstrated the benefits of using the Digi Edgeport USB-to-Serial converter and AccelePort Xem asynchronous solutions on a recent project for QPS
The Digi Edgeport USB-to-Serial converter solution was chosen by QPS as it allowed them to gather data from a wide range of devices in real-time speed, up to 200 times a second, which was crucial to their operations The "hot-swap-ability" benefits of USB technology in the Edgeport product also enabled them to replace and reconnect any devices quickly with minimum disruption to the network
The Digi AccelePort Xem system was used on other applications, where the need to connect a large number of devices on networks with very high port counts was of greater priority.
The AccelePort was ideal as it provided QPS with the flexibility to enable up to 64 devices to be connected to a single PC, at any one time.
