Ultrafiltration gains water recycling certificate
Dow Water Solutions' Ultrafiltration for water recycling applications has been certified as an acceptable filtration technology in compliance with the California Water Recycling Criteria.
This means membrane filtration has been approved as an acceptable filtration technology as long as prescribed performance requirements are reliably met.
Performance criteria through testing must demonstrate the filtered wastewater does not exceed 0.2 Nephelometric turbidity units (NTU) more than five per cent of the time within a 24-hour period and 0.5 NTU at any time.
This 0.03 um hollow fibre membrane technology was also approved as a compliant filtration technology under the California Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR), as well as the federal Long Term 1 and Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rules (LT1ESWTR, LT2ESWTR) earlier this year.
