Donaldson Membranes has announced the addition of a new Polyester stainless steel anti-static filter media to the Tetratex Release range, suitable for explosive dust risk applications

Donaldson Membranes has announced the addition of a new Polyester stainless steel anti-static filter media to the Tetratex Release range, suitable for explosive dust risk applications As a worldwide expert in the manufacture of expanded mircoporous PTFE membranes, films and laminates, Donaldson Membranes invests heavily in research to create products for a wide cross-section of markets

Tetratex Release Anti-Static Polyester Stainless Steel is the latest development in its portfolio of Tetratex Release membrane products, and is most suited to applications where there is an increased risk of dust explosion.

In order to reduce this risk, Tetratex Release Anti-Static Polyester Stainless Steel filter media should be used.

The new media uses stainless steel fibres to minimize the risk of steel fibres shedding.

It is laminated with Tetratex Release - a highly permeable membrane which acts as a primary dust cake and is suitable for use where dust particles are primarily larger than 5 microns.

Manufactured from PTFE Fluropolymer Resin, the membrane is a chemically inert material that virtually eliminates concerns regarding filter contamination.

Tetratex Release maintains performance and provides optimum airflow at a reduced pressure drop, resulting in extended bag life and energy savings.

Tetratex Release Anti-Static Polyester Stainless Steel has been accredited EXAM certification and is tested in accordance with DIN standard 54345, which relates to testing of textiles and electrostatic reaction, Parts 1 and 5.

Part 1 determines electrical resistances in terms of volume and surface.

Part 5 assesses the electrical resistance of textile media strips.

The above properties enable Tetratex Release Anti-Static Polyester Stainless Steel to be employed in the potentially explosive manufacturing processes of products such as: animal feeds; flours; grains; glucose; sugars; cereals - and in industrial applications involving coal dust; paper dust; sawdust and steel powders.
