Yukos Oil Corporation shows its commitment to the development of new technology by opening a purpose built research and development centre in Moscow, in co-operation with Davy Process Technology

Yukos Oil Corporation has underlined its commitment to the development of new technology by the opening of a purpose built research and development centre in Moscow The creation of the new R and D centre in record time was achieved by the same project management and design team that was used for Davy Process Technology state-of-the-art facility for creative chemistry, novel process development and pilot plant operations in Stockton-on-Tees, UK

Davy Process Technology is now contributing to the management of this new world-class facility.

A suitable building was identified in the Academy District of Moscow and work to convert this building into a 21st Century research facility has now been completed.

The primary aim is to provide a strategic foundation for optimisation of Yukos oil, gas, refining and petrochemical operations.

The second objective is to institute a formal post-graduate training programme in refining and petrochemical processing studies that will enhance an ambitious modernisation programme.

To mark the formal opening of the R and D Centre by Mr Yuri Beilin, President of Yukos Exploration and Production, Yukos sponsored a two day Fuel Technology and Policy Conference and hosted this at the R and D Centre.

The conference, organised by the International Fuel Quality Centre, attracted speakers and delegates from around the world and focused on future technical developments to meet new fuel and environmental regulations.

David Tomlinson, President of Davy Process Technology said; "We are delighted to have completed the project to establish the R and D Centre on time and on budget.

The Fuel Technology Conference is a fitting start to the work of the new R and D Centre and we look forward to managing an exciting programme of research that will contribute to the modernisation of oil and gas processing in Russia.".
