MDXi adds a new technology to the rapidly expanding field of 'machine' vision by allowing users to see, measure and process x-ray images of the inside of almost any product made from any material

MDXi, from 3DX-Ray, adds a new technology to the rapidly expanding field of machine vision by allowing users to see, measure and process x-ray images of the inside of almost any product made from any material It is powerful enough to see through 20 cm of plate steel or an aluminum automotive engine head, yet sensitive enough to detect a paper or plastic component within either a plastic or metal case

The new system provides a fully integrated, transportable, turn-key, high-resolution x-ray vision, inspection and measurement capability with advanced 2D, 3D and topographic x-ray imaging capabilities.

Its novel and patented dual detector array means it costs considerably less than conventional systems.

With a footprint of just 1.4m x 1.0m, MDXi can to be fixed or wheeled around a production line, R and D or QC facility.

Resolutions as fine as 300 microns are offered with a standard X-ray source.

Designed for general purpose inspection, the MDXi system is ideal for applications ranging from aluminum casting inspection through to the non-destructive testing of complex assemblies, or from laboratory trials to production inspection.

A wide range of dedicated software modules is available including 2 and 3D imaging, image analysis, fault detection, 3D measurement and QC.

The system can be run both either alone or linked to an external QC or SPC system.

As well as imaging it can be customised for individual applications and it has self-monitoring and diagnostic functions, isolated digital inputs and outputs (for integration with other equipment) and offers easy-to-use engineering tools and rapid set up.
