easyFairs have unveiled two new process, pack and track shows for the food and drink industries, the PPT Food shows, to be held in Summer 2006 at Esher and at Bolton

easyFairs have unveiled two new process, pack and track shows for the food and drink industries.

PPT Food South (24th - 25th May 2006) will be held at Sandown Park in Esher while PPT Food North (13th-14th June 2006) will be held at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton.

Each featuring over 90 exhibitors, the events will reach into the key food and drink manufacturing heartlands in the UK, providing a showcase for all of the latest processing, packaging, hygiene, tracing and labelling technologies and services.

Through a series of FREE 'learnShops', organised in association with The Food Processing Faraday Partnership and delivered by industry experts, the 1200-1500 visitors expected at each event will also be able to catch-up with the latest knowledge and know-how on key issues such as traceability, automation, robotics and waste minimisation.

The two regional events are in direct response to market needs as Haf Cennydd, Show Director of PPT Food explains: "Key decision makers in food and drink companies cannot afford to spend days out of the office, trawling around big impersonal, generalist shows.

They want events on their doorstep that focus right down on the issues that matter".

With a recent study showing that 80% of product withdrawals are down to package coding errors, and also showing issues such as delivery to anticipated order, lower cost production and recycling as high on manufacturers' agendas - the themes of processing, packing and tracking are certainly the right ones to focus on.

Pat Foreman, Chief Executive of the NorthWest Food Alliance agrees, and thinks the regional bias of the events is perfect for the industry: "The North West has more food and drink manufacturing units than any of the other English regions.

We are delighted that easyFairs have chosen to bring their process, pack and track show to the heart of such an important market".

A Project Design Engineer at Golden Wonder adds: "I am looking forward to attending easyFairs PPT Food to scout for new solutions to my problems and to see what exhibitors could do for me".

Key suppliers are equally enthusiastic and are grabbing this opportunity to reach into the industry heartland.

Exhibitors signed up already include AFM Food Machinery, Avery WeighTronix, Comark, Envirowise, Gainsborough Engineering UK, Imaje UK, Jacob UK and Loma Systems through to Markem Systems, Norpak, SCA Packaging, Seepex UK, Mobrey Measurement, Weber Marking Systems and Zafire.

In particular these companies see the events as a critical opportunity to reach not just the major food and drink companies but also the top decisionmakers in smaller companies, who often feel overlooked by the bigger generalist shows, and therefore don't attend them.

Peter McGarian, Managing Director of Seepex UK says: "We are exhibiting at both easyFairs PPT Food events as by doing this will be able to reach out to all prospective customers both in the North and South of the Country over a short period of time.".
