A host of new features at easyFairs Solids 2008

An easyFairs UK product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Oct 17, 2007

Make a date in your diary for the 11-12th March next year at the NEC, Birmingham, when easyFairs Solids 2008 returns with even more to offer exhibitors and visitors alike

The only UK exhibition for the Solids processing, handling and storage sector, easyFairs Solids brings together buyers and suppliers in powders, granules and solids production and processing industries.

It covers all the key sectors, including agriculture, dairy, food and beverages, animal feed, chemicals, soap and cosmetics, plastics and rubber, minerals and aggregates, metals, waste and recycling, biomass and biofuels, and pharmaceuticals.

Targeted at the heart of the market and showcasing the latest innovations and solutions to improve productivity and efficiency, easyFairs Solids is stepping up another gear next March.

Not only has the location moved to the NEC Birmingham, a world class venue right at the heart of the UK industrial landscape, but for the first time the show will run in parallel with easyFairs Maintec, the UK's leading exhibition for maintenance and asset management.

Bringing these industrial technology events together will build on the synergies between the specialist sectors and attract a much wider visitor audience.

Another exciting development for 2008 will be a dedicated Industrial Environment forum for the bulk solids processing and handling sector, focusing on the latest developments to improve plant performance, efficiency and compliance, including:.

* dust and emissions monitoring and control.

* effluent/slurry monitoring and disposal.

* filtration and separation.

* noise and odour control.

* energy efficiency.

* waste and recycling.

* safety and fire and explosion protection.

"The aim is to bring under one roof all the latest solutions to help plant engineers and managers discharge their environmental responsibilities and comply with regulations, while at the same time realising the bottom line benefits of improving plant efficiency and resource management," explains Peter Heath, managing director of easyFairs UK .

The show's not just about the kit, however.

Promoting knowledge transfer and sharing good practice, the short practical learnShop seminars held within the exhibition are a highlight of every easyFairs show.

Developed in partnership with the Solids Handling and Processing Association (SHAPA) and other key organisations, the sessions will give visitors and exhibitors alike the opportunity to hear industry experts talking on the hottest topics and common processing and handling issues facing solids professionals.

There will also be a particular focus on real life, practical problem-solving through end user and customer case studies.

As well as the close collaboration with SHAPA, easyFairs Solids is also, for the first time, being supported by the key professional bodies IChemE, IMechE, IOM3, SOE/IPlantE, and the Wolfson Centre for Bulk Solids Handling Technology.

Not only will these institutions be promoting the show to their extensive membership bases, but their support also underpins the role of this event as a forum where professionals can keep in touch with the latest technology and trends.

Leading companies in the industry have already signed up for easyFairs Solids 2008, including Endress + Hauser, Flexicon (Europe), K-Tron Great Britain, Howden Process Compressors, NDC Infrared Engineering, Rota Val, Sew Eurodrive, Sweco Europe, Vega Controls, and Vortex Valves Europe.

There are top names for the Industrial Environment forum too - including ABB, PCME, Scientifics and Signal Group - as well as plenty of interest from the solids processing and handling specialists in mainland Europe and Ireland to bring an international flavour to the show.
