Aquagauge digital water level sensors were developed to provide an inexpensive method of continuous water level monitoring for depths up to 10 meters with a resolution of a few mm The product range encompasses a variety of models including systems with wireless and data-logging capabilities

Software for data acquisition and display is also available.

Aquagauge devices can be used in water tanks, irrigation channels, reservoirs, lakes, rivers, seawater etc.

Aquagauge digital water level sensors operate by measuring the dielectric properties of an anti-fouling polymer-coated cable immersed in water.

Provided that enough ionic impurities are present in solution to conduct a small alternating electrical current, the length of the submerged section of the cable can be determined.

Each sensor contains a microprocessor, pre-programmed with calibration values matched to the dielectric signatures of the above water and underwater sections of the cable.

The microprocessor analyses the signal and computes water level every few seconds.

The level, and temperature within the transmitter case, are sent either wirelessly by RF transmission or serially via wires to the data display.

Rainwater and seawater produce virtually equivalent results and water containing suspended sediments, organic matter and most other commonly encountered non-corrosive contaminants, can usually be monitored without problems.

The units are simple to install, manufactured from low maintenance materials and are freeze-tolerant.
