World-leading mixing technology comes to UK
The UK process industry will have increased access to one of the world's most advanced ranges of mixer technology, as Ekato plans a strengthened UK presence
With more than 70 years experience in providing advanced process solutions, Ekato Group is represented in more than 60 locations around the world.
Now the family-owned German firm is strengthening its UK presence with the appointment of industry expert John Smith as UK director, and the establishment of a new UK office.
"John has more than seventeen years of experience in the process industry and a considerable understanding of how to specify mixing systems that improve process operations," says Dr Erich Todtenhaupt, chairman, Ekato Group: "The Ekato strength across Europe is not currently reflected in our UK presence, and with John's help, we intend to change that.
The UK is an important market and we intend to develop by delivering the high quality, innovative systems and services for which Ekato is renowned".
"The UK has a rich and diverse process industry that progressively drives productivity and improves product quality," says John Smith: "With growing international competition and environmental regulations, the innovation and quality of process systems is increasingly critical for business success.
Ekato operates the industry's most advanced European technical centre and, with a commitment to innovation, is ideally positioned to help customers address these challenges.
I'm delighted to join a world-leading business at such an exciting time".
Specialising in 'wet side' design, Ekato offers a broader range of impellers and mixing systems than any other company in Europe, leading the industry in innovation.
Reduced mixing times can prevent process bottle necking, increase overall product throughput and also reduce capital cost, if a smaller agitator system may be specified.
With four specialist divisions in the Ekato Group, it offers solutions from small industrial agitators to large scale reactors and complete mixing systems, for application in many process sectors including biochemical, pharmaceutical, food and drink, plastics and minerals.
Using specially created software, Ekato can input customers process needs and design constraints and return the optimal mixing design solution very quickly, including price.
With Europe's most advanced research and development design facility for mixing technology, Ekato can also offer complete custom design, pilot plant testing and reliable scale-up to commercial dimensions.
A comprehensive textbook is available via the Ekato website, to anyone interested in learning about mixing technology.
The complete mixing solutions from the Ekato Group improve product quality and process efficiency in many industry sectors, including biochemical, pharmaceutical, food and drink, plastics and minerals.
With four specialist subsidiaries, Ekato RMT, Ekato Fluid, Ekato Systems and Ekato ESD, the Ekato Group, founded in Dusseldorf, Germany has been a world leader in mixing technology since 1933.
Employing more than 600 people at 60 locations across Europe, the US and Asia, Ekato Group remains a family-run enterprise, led today by Dr Erich Todtenhaupt, youngest son of the founder.
Passionate about innovation, Ekato Group operates Europe's most advanced in-house research and development facility for 'wet side' mixing technology and offers a broader range of impeller designs than any other company in Europe.
