Elfab Flo-Tel switch alarm for bursting discs
Leading pressure safety systems provider Elfab has enhanced its Flo-Tel switch range to meet the European ATEX Directive (Atmospheres Explosibles) 100A for monitoring bursting discs and panels
Although normally supplied in stainless steel, panels can be made from more unusual materials to suit specific environments.
Burst detection for use in potentially explosive atmospheres is provided by the new Flo-Tel II switch.
As an industry first, Elfab is now including this ATEX-approved device as part of a stock package to ensure compliance with June 2003 statutory legislation under Directive 100A.
Designed to open at a highly precise predetermined burst pressure, bursting panels have very low inertia and provide full venting in about ten milliseconds.
They are also leak-tight and, with no moving parts such as hinges, are maintenance-free.
Critically, Elfab bursting panels are fail-safe in operation, which makes them particularly suited to explosive environments and explains their widespread use in production, processing, storage and handling applications across many industries.
