Cryogenic bursting discs added to range

An Elfab product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Apr 2, 2003

Elfab Limited, the leader in pressure safety solutions, has introduced a range of bursting disc devices specifically designed for use in cryogenic and industrial gas applications

The range allows operating pressures up to 95 per cent of the burst rating, with proven performance down to extremely low pressures and temperatures in liquid and vapour environments.

A choice of materials delivers protection against corrosive agents: excellent leak tightness is provided through electron-beam welding, and a variety of inlet and outlet connections facilitates installation to meet any system specification.

A series of standard pressure-rated graphite and stainless steel discs in brass or steel housings is available, with Elfab engineering and project consultancy resources catering for bespoke requirements.

A recent addition to the range, the new Optigard reverse-acting disc offers improved overall performance and reliability, especially at lower pressures and under more stringent operating conditions.

Manufactured in accordance with the ASME, PED and other relevant codes, Elfab products have operated successfully for many years in a variety of safety-critical applications for global leaders in their fields.

These include fixed separation plant, storage vessels, industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, transportation, superconductivity, fuel cell technology, hydrocarbon processing and MRI scanners.
