Elpro Technologies, announces the release of the 455U-D high performance radio modem, for use on both high power licensed radio channels and low power license-free channels

The new Elpro product has two RF power versions - a low power version (10 - 500mW) suitable for license-free radio channels and a high power version (0.5 to 5W) for licensed use The industrial design pedigree is impressive, with temperature rating down to -30C, and a built-in uninterruptible power supply to protect against uncertain power supply quality

The 455U-D provides reliable long-distance communications with military-grade security.

The 455U-D utilises MDC functionality - 'Multiple Device Connectivity'.

With two data ports, each 455U-D modem can handle two independent connectivity applications simultaneously.

And there is also a separate dedicated serial port for configuration and system management diagnostics.

The 455U-D is suitable for both long distance and short distance applications; for SCADA systems distributed over wide geographic areas, or for industrial users wanting to use license-free radio channels.

Several intelligent networking modes are provided to connect to a wide variety of devices, including wireless mesh multi-hop repeater networking.

The 455U-D also provides Optimal Path Routing, protocol-specific wireless optimisation for Modbus, DNP3, DF1 and Profibus communications.
