Customer results justify 2% PlantWeb
promise

A new PlantWeb website brings together a wealth of information to help manufacturers achieve more than 2% improvement in efficiency of existing operations and save more than 30% on projects

Emerson Process Management today announced the unveiling of a new PlantWeb website that brings together a wealth of information to help manufacturers achieve more than 2% improvement in efficiency of existing operations and save more than 30% on projects The new website is unique in the breadth and depth of customer results presented, based on the Emerson worldwide and industry-wide experience with its innovative PlantWeb digital plant architecture

"At a time when most manufacturers are facing difficulty producing returns that exceed their cost of capital, it is important for automation suppliers to focus on technology and solutions that deliver measurable results," said Jane Lansing, vice president of marketing at Emerson.

"Towards that end, we've made plant efficiency, and our promise of improvement, the central theme of our new PlantWeb website.

Promises are easier said than fulfilled," continued Lansing, "to support our promise, we've loaded the new website with real customer cases and examples about the quantified business results that customers have experienced in installations around the world, and across all industries.

We describe the process automation and asset optimisation solutions delivered by PlantWeb, that have improved plant production and lowered conversion costs".

Information on how PlantWeb can deliver operational benefits is presented within each of seven benefit areas that increase plant output or reduce plant costs, listed as: Quality; Throughput; Availability; Operations and Maintenance; Safety, Health and Environment; Utilities; Waste/Rework.

Visitors can review information about how PlantWeb delivers at least 2% improvement in plant efficiency by delivering value in each benefit area.

Visitors can also access tutorial white papers addressing each benefit area; the white papers for each of quality, throughput, and availability are available now, and white papers on the other areas will be added soon.

The white papers describe each benefit area, the issues that each benefit area presents, and the way that PlantWeb addresses each.

Links are also provided to customer testimonials and case studies in the "Customer Proven" section.

The Customer Proven section of the PlantWeb website organises customer experience and efficiency improvements by industry.

In the Project Benefit section of the website, visitors can review information about how PlantWeb impacts project start-up and engineering costs, and can read about customer experience with installed-cost reductions by PlantWeb.

Visitors can also link to free, online PlantWeb University courses about planning a project, or to TestDrive PlantWeb, an online set of industry models that show how PlantWeb drives down capital and engineering costs.

Looking forward, PlantWeb University will add courses on improving Quality and Availability within the next two months, the first steps in adding courses for each of the seven operational benefits areas.

An interactive laboratory area is also planned. Request a free brochure from Emerson Process Management ...
