Conference to exchange automation strategies
Emerson customers will exchange experience of automation-driven strategies during their annual conference in October in Dallas: this year the focus is to be on forward direction and technology
The 2004 Emerson Global Users Exchange will be held on October 25-29 in Dallas, Texas.
Process manufacturers will share ideas, practices and proven solutions with fellow users and Emerson experts in an intensive programme of business forums, workshops, short courses, and exhibits.
With a focus on forward direction and technology, this year's conference has an expanded scope that includes all Emerson Process Management divisions.
Attendees will hear from their peers how Emerson PlantWeb digital plant technologies are providing breakthrough results for manufacturers globally across all process industries.
Organised by a Management Board consisting mainly of end-user companies, the event will attract about 1,500 delegates from across all continents.
Several of the presentations accepted for the event describe major European applications of process plant technology.
The presentations are grouped into streams covering different plant management topics, technologies, and industry sectors on the different days.
The conference will feature over 200 workshops and 25 short courses plus keynote speakers, management roundtables, executive sessions, and an expanded technology exhibit hall.
Currently, nine industry business forums are planned to include chemicals, refining and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, food/beverage and consumer products, pulp and paper, oil and gas, power and utilities, metals/mining/cement/glass, and contractors.
Throughout the conference, attendees will explore experiences during engineering, project management, integration and commissioning, operations and improvement, and maintenance and sustaining phases of plant life.
Users will discuss comprehensive strategies for automation and the future viability of their plants.
Participants in previous Emerson Exchanges describe the experience as "very exciting" and "highly informative".
Attendance at a major event like this needs to be planned well in advance, and the website already shows synopses of a large proportion of the presentations on offer.
The overall theme of the Emerson Global Exchange, "Bringing the Best Together" applies to the technology, to the companies attending, and to the delegates themselves.
