Project Manager for Rosemount in Europe

Emerson has appointed Ian McConnell as Project Manager for its Rosemount Division in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to provide further expertise on MAC and MIV type contracts

Emerson Process Management, a leading global supplier of process automation and instrumentation systems, has announced the appointment of Ian McConnell as a project manager for its Rosemount division for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Most recently Instrument Technical Manager for Aker Kvaerner, Ian will now concentrate on developing instrumentation schemes that provide the best value approach for Emerson Process Management clients, based on 18 years of experience as lead engineer on many chemical and petrochemical projects.

Ron Migliorini, European VP Sales and Marketing for the Rosemount division of Emerson Process Management, sees Ian's appointment as enabling major benefit to customers: "The better the project management expertise we can offer to contractors or end-users, as part of Emerson assuming the role of Main Instrumentation Vendor (MIV) or Main Automation Contractor (MAC), the more performance improvements and cost savings we can deliver from modern technology.

This includes use of Rosemount intelligent instruments as key components of the PlantWeb field based architecture of Emerson, and extends to overall plant instrumentation concepts and how these can improve productivity and profitability.

Emerson uses industry leading Rosemount technology in pressure, level, temperature and flow measurement systems to provide advanced instrumentation capability, using most of the protocols relevant to modern process systems.

Ian has had particular involvement in field instrumentation, analyser systems and ESD systems, and will be located at Emerson Process Management in Bognor.

Rosemount temperature and pressure measurement products are manufactured in two European facilities in Germany, and the Emerson world technology centre for Rosemount level measurement is located in Sweden.
