Emerson opens offshore engineering centre
Emerson Process Management has announced the opening of an engineering centre in Oslo, Norway.
Emerson is addressing motor-pump machines that are essential to operations in chemical, oil and gas, refining, power, pulp and paper and other process industries.
The new Emerson CSI 9210 Machinery Health Transmitter is the cornerstone of Smart Machinery Health Management.
The CSI 9210 is the first Foundation fieldbus transmitter that diagnoses conditions including motor-pump bearing failure, coupling misalignment, motor electrical failure, pump cavitation and pump imbalance.
"We are excited and proud to announce this new Smart Machinery Health Management innovation.
It is a clear response to the operational issues of our customers, and will deliver significant business benefits for users", said Jim Nyquist, president of Emerson Process Management in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
"This launch is another major step toward enlightening plants with open, digital intelligence and predictive diagnostics.
Smart Machinery Health Management powers the Emerson PlantWeb architecture by delivering actionable information on rotating equipment so plant personnel can prevent production upsets before they happen".
Motor-pumps are traditionally monitored only infrequently and repaired when they fail.
A dramatic improvement in plant performance is enabled by the CSI 9210 Machinery Health Transmitter that delivers continuous actionable information about rotating equipment health directly into plant process control systems and asset management applications.
With this realtime information, plant operators are able to easily view rotating equipment status, recognise issues with machinery, and take actions to improve availability and plant performance.
Emerson Smart Machinery Health Management extends the innovative PlantWeb digital plant architecture by embedding rotating equipment expertise into intelligent digital field transmitters.
Diagnostic information is communicated from the field devices via the industry standard Foundation fieldbus protocol.
Operations and maintenance information is displayed in DeltaV and Ovation process automation systems with integrated AMS Suite asset management software.
The CSI 9210 Machinery Health Transmitter joins the CSI 4500 Machinery Health Monitor to enable management of essential and critical rotating equipment, the most typical source of failure and cost of maintenance in a plant.
Emerson combines world-class services with PlantWeb to help users apply field-based information.
Services include installation supervision, configuration and startup, training, and on-going support. Request a free brochure from Emerson Process Management ...
