An estimated $30 million order for Fisher control valves has been received for the Qatargas II LNG Plant expansion, where Emerson will act as Main Automation Contractor, using PlantWeb architecture

Emerson Process Management has won an estimated $30 million order for Fisher control valves to be installed at a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil for the Qatargas II LNG Plant expansion at the Ras Laffan Industrial Complex in Qatar.

The expansion will add on to the existing Qatargas site with train Number 4 scheduled to begin delivery of 7.8 million tons annually in late 2007, and train Number 5 scheduled to produce an additional 7.8 million tons annually beginning one to two years later.

Emerson is the Main Automation Contractor and is supplying its PlantWeb digital plant architecture for the project.

An extensive range of high performance Fisher digital valves made it possible to implement and custom design valve solutions to meet all process noise, temperature, flow capacity and pressure requirements.

Fisher valves were selected for general service, antisurge, cryogenic and severe service applications at this, the world's first and largest twin mega train LNG liquefaction plant.

The valve sizes vary from 1 inch to 36 inches with pressure ratings up to ANSI 1500, and delivery commenced in March.

The order was awarded on the basis of technical excellence.

Patented cryogenic sealing technology will be implemented in the valves.

Fisher optimised anti-surge digital valves will be used for the compressor recycle applications.

Emerson WhisperFlo low noise trim will be used to meet the plant's stringent noise requirements.

The anti-surge valves will have extremely accurate and fast-acting actuation systems, and all of the valves will be equipped with Fieldvue digital valve controllers with advanced diagnostics capability.

This state-of-the-art valve solution integrates into Emerson PlantWeb digital plant architecture.
