Emerson launches two-wire Micro Motion Coriolis
Emerson Process Management has launched a two-wire Micro Motion Coriolis transmitter, expanding the value of Coriolis to the range of applications that require loop-powered flow devices.
Previously, with +/- 0.10% accuracy over a 20:1 turndown, the Micro Motion Elite meter provided the most accurate Coriolis measurement available.
Now, next generation MVD technology delivers +/- 0.05% mass and volume flow accuracy over a 20:1 turndown, and up to +/- 0.0002 g/cc density accuracy - a significant improvement over other Coriolis meters and alternative technologies.
For applications where precise measurement is critical, such as charging reactors, injecting additives, and custody transfer of high-value products, the new Micro Motion Elite is the clear choice for the most accurate and consistent measurement.

In addition, with the ability to measure density with such extreme accuracy, the new unit has prompted the deployment of the Micro Motion Elite meters as a process analyser by users.
"Historically, Coriolis flowmeters have been known for their superior measurement capabilities, but their performance has also been seen as sensitive to changing conditions such as dramatic fluid or ambient temperature variances or pipe stress," explained Tom Moser, president of the Emerson Micro Motion Division: "Using our advancements in MVD technology and improved sensor design, Micro Motion Elite meters offer extremely accurate liquid flow, gas flow, and liquid density measurements regardless of varying operating environments or harsh process conditions".
Often with other flow measurement technologies, including other Coriolis flowmeters, the meter performs to specification at ambient temperatures on the bench, but fails to meet the same specifications when subject to actual process and/or ambient conditions.
The improved Micro Motion Elite meter retains its outstanding accuracy over a wide range of ambient and process temperatures.
The stable performance means that customers can enjoy years of maintenance-free operation, eliminate down time, and increase the throughput of their operations.
The improved meter performance is available on Micro Motion Elite flowmeters with next generation MVD technology.
Micro Motion has long been the Coriolis leader in quality, measurement performance, and reliability.
Micro Motion Coriolis flowmeters are part of the broad range of intelligent, digital field devices from Emerson that power the PlantWeb digital plant architecture.
