Vibration monitoring in hazardous plant
areas

Customers can now obtain advanced analysis of the condition of rotating equipment in all areas of their plants using the hazardous area approved CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser

Emerson Process Management now makes vibration monitoring of rotating equipment possible in the hazardous areas of chemical and petrochemical process plants and refineries Two new hazardous area approved versions of the CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analyser are available for evaluating the condition of a broad range of equipment types in hazardous work areas

Both the new single and dual channel analysers comply with the rigorous international safety standards established by Factory Mutual (FM), Canadian Standards Association (CSA), and the European (ATEX) standard, extending the use of the industry's best tool for fast, accurate assessment of the condition of rotating machinery to the most sensitive plant environments.

These certified versions of the CSI 2130 retain all functions of the machinery health analysers commonly operating in other areas.

They are capable of gathering large amounts of data and reducing it into accurate diagnostics and actionable information.

The collected data can be uploaded for analysis and trending to the AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager software, a component of Emerson PlantWeb digital plant architecture.

The health of critically important rotating equipment in hazardous areas can now be addressed through vibration data collection (single or dual-channel), vibration analysis (single and dual-channel), advanced cross channel vibration analysis, cascade analysis for machine start-up or coast-down (single or dual-channel) and advanced transient analysis (single or dual-channel).

In addition, the new versions of the CSI 2130 can be used to perform dynamic balancing and laser shaft alignment in hazardous areas without the requirement for a hot-work permit that may be needed when using alternative equipment.

The CSI 2130 is a high-performance, single and dual-channel data collector and analyser able to perform advanced vibration analysis, cross channel analysis, transient analysis, dynamic balancing, laser shaft alignment and motor monitoring.

Using the Emerson patented PeakVue technology, the CSI 2130 allows superior early detection of bearing, lubrication and gear problems.

PeakVue technology is essential for every company that carries out vibration analysis, significantly increasing the availability of all rotating equipment.

It is a standard feature on all CSI 2130 Machinery Health Analysers which form one of the foundations of an Emerson Machinery Health Management solution.

Machinery Health Management solutions are key elements of their PlantWeb architecture and Asset Optimisation products and services.

PlantWeb automates the flow of information on asset reliability and performance to the people who run the business.

To help users apply and use field-generated information, Emerson offers world-class Asset Optimisation products along with services capable of significantly improving process plant reliability.

Results include improved process availability, increased productivity, and reduced equipment cost-of-ownership. Request a free brochure from Emerson Process Management ...
