Flameproof X-Stream process gas analyser

An Emerson Process Management product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Oct 25, 2007

Emerson has unveiled the Rosemount Analytical X-Stream flameproof process gas analyser, which can be installed in Class I, Zone1, GroupIIB + H2 hazardous areas requiring ATEX or CSA-C/US certification

This is the newest edition to the X-Stream Series, which also includes general purpose and NEMA 4X field housing process gas analysers.

The Rosemount Analytical X-Stream Gas Analysers help users improve product quality and increase efficiency, throughput and safety.

By enabling customers to fine-tune their processes, the analysers support increased productivity and profitability.

Some of the industries that can benefit from X-Stream analysers include petrochemical and chemical processing, metallurgical production, hardening and heat treatment, natural gas production and distribution, safety measurement for flammable mixtures, biotechnology, landfill applications, and flue gas analysis of boilers, power plants, process furnaces and incinerators.

"We are very excited about the opportunities created since the launch of the X-Stream line early in 2006," said Mike Fersky, process analysers marketing manager for the Rosemount Analytical division of Emerson Process Management.

"Various industries have benefited from X-Stream analysers, and the new flameproof model is a great addition to the product family".

Rosemount Analytical X-Stream analysers offer single and dual-channel analysis utilising infrared, ultraviolet and visible (NDIR/UV/VIS) photometry, paramagnetic and electrochemical oxygen, and thermal conductivity sensor technologies.

In addition, Rosemount Analytical X-Stream Gas Analysers feature a user-friendly operator interface with support for multiple languages.

The measuring cells are solvent resistant, corrosion-resistant and intrinsically safe.

Thermostatic control enables the analyser to measure lower sample gas concentrations and higher dew points.

Separation of the electronics and physical benches with a purge makes the units suitable for handling corrosive and toxic gases.

Other features include analogue and digital I/O, status signal relay outputs and serial interface with Modbus communication.

Autocalibration can be enabled via internal or external valve blocks and the unit also incorporates barometric pressure compensation, internal sampling pump and flow sensor.

X-Stream is designed for easy access for maintenance and repair and the extended ambient temperature range makes the unit suitable for a wide range of field mount applications without the need for additional shelters.

Global certifications make the units suitable for a wide range of applications worldwide.
