The new Promag 55S aggressive slurry magmeter

An Endress + Hauser product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Nov 8, 2006

In food and beverage, pulp / paper and wastewater, the processes often have to contend with high solids content fluids, often that are abrasive, high in temperature and chemically aggressive

Even in diverse industries such as primaries, food and beverage, pulp and paper and wastewater, the processes have something in common: they often have to contend with fluids with a high solid content, as well as many that are abrasive, high in temperature and chemically aggressive.

The new Promag 55S electromagnetic flowmeter is purpose-built for demanding applications.

With its high performance transmitter, based on digital signal processing (DSP) technology and its robust sensor design, it is the natural and ideal choice for tough metering jobs.

Central to the design of the Promag 55S is the right combination of liner material and electrode design to meet the differing demands of the process industries.

Promag offers such options as:.

* Natural rubber liner with brush electrodes: ideal for highly abrasive liquids, rocky slurry.

* Polyurethane liner with tungsten carbide-coated electrodes for fine slurries.

* High temperature PFA lining with duplex electrodes: perfect for concentrated black liquors.

* Hygienic PFA liner with bow electrodes is the optimum solution for fruit mashes and pulps.

With this extensive range of purpose-designed liner options and electrodes, you can be sure that the Promag operational lifetime and performance is maximised in the tough environment of industry-specific applications.

And, thanks to its optimised pulsed direct current (DC) technology, the Promag 55S also offers excellent measurement reproducibility, accuracy (0.2%) and stability in even the noisiest of flow applications.

Couple this with extended diagnostic functionality to enhance process security and reduce maintenance costs, and flow measurement has a solid new answer.
