It's not just environmental monitoring equipment that will come under scrutiny at this year's MCERTS Conference - delegates will be able to get an up-to-the-minute read-out on local air pollution levels.

Enviro Technology Services plc - a world leader in the supply of advanced environmental air quality monitoring systems - will have an Opsis open-path DOAS system set up outside the main door at the Bretby Conference Centre measuring the levels of nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and ozone in ambient air.

The Enviro Technology AQM Systems Sales Manager Stephen Hoskin said: "The Opsis DOAS system is MCERTS-approved and will be set up in the car park from 9am to 5pm during the conference on 12-13 October: Delegates will be able to see the analyser in action and get a guided tour of the system.

"When they visit Enviro Technology at stands 36 and 37 they will also be able to get an up-to-the-minute read-out of the data collected".

Enviro Technology are also running a number of workshops during the conference near Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire.

On Wednesday October 12, from 0945 to 1015, Operations Director Duncan Mounsor will be talking about isokinetic particulate and gaseous sampling using source testing equipment.

Then, from 1030 to 1100, there will be a discussion on Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) for IPPC applications using the MCERTS-approved Opsis cross-duct system.

On Thursday October 13, from 1115 to 1145, fenceline monitoring of fugitive emissions using the Opsis open-path DOAS system will be the topic followed by, at 1200 to 1230, a talk on advances in air quality monitoring, which will give an overview of modern measurement, calibration and data collection techniques.
