Environmental health professionals will be able to see open path monitoring in action when Enviro Technology Services take to the road with their mobile Opsis 300 system

Environmental health professionals will be able to see open path monitoring in action when Enviro Technology Services take to the road with their mobile Opsis 300 system.

Using Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS), Opsis 300 is capable of continuously measuring ambient concentrations of key pollutants.

With only two moving parts to the system, Opsis 300 is extremely low maintenance - providing savings in both time and money - while producing reliable read-outs with a very high data capture rate.

The Enviro Technology AQM Systems Sales Manager Stephen Hoskin said: "We took our Opsis 300 roadshow to the recent MCERTS conference, where delegates were able to see the open path method demonstrated.

They could then visit the Enviro Technology stands inside Bretby Conference Centre and get up-to-the-minute read-outs on the levels of nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and ozone in ambient air.

The demonstrations attracted so much interest that we have decided to take the mobile monitoring station on the road between January and March 2006 to enable environmental health professionals to see the system working, along with the Air Quality Management software package".

Stephen added: "The open path technique provides a more representative assessment of the pollution levels as it samples more air than the more common point analysers.

For this reason, Opsis is well-suited to provide data for use in model validation".

Other roadshow demonstrations will include the Enviro Technology unique airqualitydata.com interactive website software and an automatic elemental carbon monitor.

As Britain's leading exporters of advanced environmental monitoring equipment, ETS were also awarded four MCERTS certificates for their CAMS range of Teledyne API Ambient Gas Analysers at the MCERTS conference.

Technical Support Engineer Simon Gilchrist was presented with certificates for the M100E UV Fluorescent SO2 Analyser; M200E Chemiluminescent NOx Analyser; M300E IR GFC CO Analyser and the M400E UV Absorption O3 Analyser.

Stephen Hoskin commented: "We're absolutely delighted.

Earlier this year, Enviro Technology were also awarded the first ever MCERTS approval for the Opsis 300 open path system.

We are confident of securing several large emissions monitoring contracts as a result".

Individual companies or local authorities wishing to see the Opsis 300 in action during the 2006 roadshow should call Claire Gibbons!.
