An Enviro Technology roadshow at the University of the West of England will show cutting-edge air quality and vehicle emissions monitoring systems in operation at a free event on 7th April

Enviro Technology (ET), is holding the event in association with the University Air Quality Management Resource Centre in Bristol, and will be demonstrating the advanced ESP Accuscan 4600 remote-sensing vehicle emissions monitoring system, the MCERTS certified Opsis open-path air quality monitoring system and the new TrafficBOx The UWE Estates Department has just become the first customer in the UK to take delivery of an ET TrafficBOx - the air quality survey tool that can measure up to six gases, as well as taking environmental parameters including temperature and noise into account

Measuring just 520 x 250 x 700mm, the real-time air quality system can be mounted onto lampposts, railings, or other street furniture without the need for planning permission.

The unit operates on batteries, solar power, or mains electricity, using high performance Analytical GSS Technology to measure pollutants.

The data collected is then stored internally and is available in real-time or short-term resolution to a PC via GSM, modem, or other communications options.

The UWE campus had a roadside air quality monitoring station installed last year to measure NOx, PM10 and O3 using an API M200E chemiluminescent NOx analyser, an API M400E UV Absorption O3 analyser and a BAM1020 PM10 particulate analyser.

Data is collected via broadband and assessed using ET EnviMan data collection and software analysis.

Visitors to the event will see the Accuscan 4600 remote-sensing system that allows drive-by recording of vehicle emissions along with automatic number plate capturing to identify the highest emitting vehicles.

Up to 4000 vehicles per day can be measured at a typical city arterial road.

The MCERTS approved Opsis open-path air quality monitoring system will also be in action.

Such open-path technology is fast gaining popularity for street canyon and fence line emissions monitoring and for other applications where traditional technologies are just not practical or representative of actual conditions.

Johanna Symons, from the UWE Air Quality Management Resource Centre stated "AQMRC are pleased to co-host this event, demonstrating a range of techniques available for different air quality monitoring scenarios".

ET is a world-leading supplier of Air Quality, Emission and Environmental Monitoring analysers, systems, software and networks.

Operations director, Duncan Mounsor commented, "This event is a major platform for ET to demonstrate its capabilities across the board".

The event will be held at the University of the West of England, Bristol, Frenchay Campus, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol, BS16 1QY from 12 noon to 4pm on 7th April.
