New must-have resource for energy professionals

Since its inception in 2000 the event has grown to the extent where it attracted 1500 visitors in 2006.
Of these visitors 30% were directors, 50% were management and 20% were engineers and consultants.
This high quality audience has led to the fact that the Energy Event 2007 is already a sell-out in terms of exhibition space, highly unusual for any UK exhibition in these times.

Advice on 'Buildings energy performance' directive
Visitors to one of the Energy Event seminars will have access to essential advice about what the 'Energy Performance of Buildings' EU Directive means for UK businesses and the public sector
As was announced in February for 2007 the exhibition and conference is to re-brand itself as The Energy Event 2007.
Commenting on the reasons for this, Eamonn Brennan, event director said "We wanted to drive home the message that this is 'the' event in the energy calendar.
This pre-eminence is based upon the fact that The Energy Event 2007 is the UK's only annual exhibition and conference focused on energy procurement, management and efficiency".
Shawn Coles, sales director of The Energy Event 2007 supports this when saying: "Our visitors will be aware that this event delivers what it promises.
An undiluted energy event for today's busy professional offering both insight and innovation through a content rich range of conferences and seminars and over 100 key exhibitors".
The strength of the event is reflected in its event partners for 2007.
British Energy is the official sponsor for the event with other sponsors including: e.on, EDF Energy, Encore International, Llumarlite and Space Airconditioning.
A major part of the show success over recent years has been the seminar and conference programme which has run alongside the exhibition.
Conference and seminar partners for 2007 include ESTA (Energy Services and Technology Association), MEUC (Major Energy Users Council), Envirowise, CIBSE (Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers), BCAS (British Compressed Air Society), Energy Information Centre and Encore International.
The partners will run a range of seminars and conferences over the two days of the event with subject areas including: Gas and power purchasing; Energy management techniques; Energy efficient technology.
In parallel to The Energy Event, the BCAS (British Compressed Air Society) will hold its AGM during the two day event, discussing compressed air efficiency: Envirowise will also stage a seminar to discuss water efficiency.
An addition to The Energy Event 2007, and one of the major reasons to re-brand was a new high profile strand of seminars and conferences.
Aimed at directors and senior managers this element is to be split into two areas with day one focusing on energy procurement while day two looks at energy management.
Eamonn Brennan comments on this new conference strata saying "The aim of this new element is to inform delegates on how the UK economy and individual businesses can achieve economic growth and increase competitiveness while improving corporate social responsibility through high standards in energy and environmental policy.
To this end we have speakers such as the UK operations manager of Vodafone and the head of utility procurement at Procter and Gamble".
The re-branding of The Energy Event 2007 reflects the change that the energy market has felt over the last decade and its prominence on the agenda of most companies.
Shawn Coles summarises the issues that have driven The Energy Event 2007 "One thing is for sure" he says "we are at the foothills of disaster and business has a responsibility to act.
It is no longer the case of merely 'looking into energy policy' and those businesses which do react can benefit in a number of ways such as reduced operational cost and the attraction of ethical investment.
These next few years are set to be a turning point and The Energy Event 2007 offers a valuable experience to visitors and their businesses".
The Energy Event 2007 is the newly re-branded Energy show organised by Western Business Exhibitions.
British Energy is the event's main sponsor with other sponsors including: EDF Energy, e.on, Encore International, Space Air; Llumarlite.
Reflecting the rightful claim to be 'the' most important energy focused event that takes place during the year many organisations and bodies arrange their activity around the event.
BCAS (British Compressed Air Society) holds its AGM during the two day event, while Envirowise also stages a seminar discussing Water Efficiency.
