E2S, the specialist manufacturer of high output audible and visual warning indicators, offers electronic sounders rated at 140dB(A) at 1m for use as wide area warning devices.

The main applications are as warning devices in industrial sites, factory complexes, refineries, civil engineering sites, quarries and airfields; they can also be used to give flood warnings, civil defence warnings and in any other application where a warning has to be broadcast across a wide area.

The A140 electronic sounder is continuously rated and weighs only 25kg.

It is a thirty-two alarm tone, three stage sounder, UKOOA/PFEER compliant, powered either from 24VDC or 115 or 230VAC.

DC current draw is 8 Amps; AC draw is 1A at 230V.

The sound is directional; for 360 degree coverage, a cluster of three A140 units, remote-controlled by telephone or radio switching, can be pole-mounted, ideally some 10 to 15 metres high, to give all-round audibility over a distance of up to 2 kilometres in open areas and still air conditions.

Any combination of tones can be allocated to the three stages and switching between stages can be remotely implemented via volt free clean contacts.

All A140s driven by the same power source are automatically synchronised and, for totally reliable operation, power to the devices can be backed up using batteries or a UPS.
