EIC to act as UK sponsors for AchemAsia
in Beijing
Success at Petro-Chem Expo China in Beijing has encouraged the EIC to act as sponsors of the UK group at Achemasia from 11-15 May 2004: UK Trade and Investment grants are available for stand costs
Success at Petro-Chem Expo China, November 2003, Beijing has encouraged the EIC to act as sponsors of the UK group at Achemasia in Beijing from 11-15 May 2004: UK Trade and Investment grants are available to support stand costs for exhibitors This was the first time in five years that the Energy Industries Council has dipped a toe into the China market, by organising a UK Group at the 1st Petro-Chem Expo China exhibition

Loong Say Meng and Karen Szeto from the EIC Singapore Office travelled out to Beijing and the feedback received from the seven exhibitors has been very positive.
By using the Show Organisers' appointed stand contractor, costs were kept down, so giving a 9sqm stand at a fantastic low cost of GBP1,720 (net of the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) grant).
Matthew Tigwell from Heatric commented that: "a good level of attendance from all departments, such as engineering, maintenance, etc, has allowed us to make a positive first step into the marketplace".

Steven Smith from Monitor Management said that as their "first endeavour into China, we have learnt a lot about the local market, the attitudes and the best approach we might need to take to do business here".
David O'Brien from CMP Products noted that there was "strong interest from client/operators, engineering companies and consultants, fabricators and package vendors who expressed keen interest in UK manufactured product and technologies".
Lastly, Ian Littlewood from Hedley Purvis wrote "I have been overwhelmed by the attendance of key Chinese business people and we have had all our expectations surpassed, identifying many prospective partners/distributors".
The Energy Industries Council has been appointed as sponsors of the UK group at AchemAsia in Beijing from 11-15 May 2004.
UK Trade and Investment grants are available of up to 50 percent of the cost of space and stand construction, up to a maximum of GBP 2,500.
