Metal detector highlights metal cable ties

An Eriez Magnetics product story

To ensure that all ties are removed from Kutting manufactured thermoplastic hoses, they have installed an Eriez E-Z Tec 9000 Aperture Metal Detector, fitted with audio alarm and coast counter

Kutting UK, based in Milton Keynes and part of the German Kutting group, manufacture high pressure thermoplastic hoses for a variety of industrial uses.

During the manufacturing process, central core sections may need to be joined together before braiding and covering the hose.

Wire ties are used to link the sections which later need to be removed.

To ensure that all ties are removed Kutting have installed an Eriez E-Z Tec 9000 Aperture Metal Detector.

This high sensitivity metal detector has been fitted with audio alarm and coast counter.

The alarm is activated the moment a metal tie is detected and the coast counter monitors the number of ties detected.

The Eriez E-Z Tec 9000 is a recent addition to the range of Eriez metal detectors.

Special features of the E-Z Tec 9000 include easy to use, tamper-proof controls allowing up to 10 product settings, single PCB for ease of maintenance, and linear power supply to reduce susceptibility to "noise" (interference).

Kirsten Rhodes, Sales and Technical Manager at Kutting UK, comments "excellent piece of kit - not only removing all stress from the extrusion team in that they no longer have to manually locate and log joins, but also offering massive quality bonus in that the risk of despatching hose containing joins has been completely eradicated".
