INtools automated configuration speeds project execution, reduces engineering effort, eliminates re-keying I/O configuration data and improves accuracy - helping engineers jump-start the configuration project on any Emerson DeltaV automation system, and bring the project on-line sooner.
The DeltaV and INtools combination offers a straightforward process for configuring a DeltaV system.
Users first download DeltaV I/O card specifications from a dedicated Emerson website into INtools.
The download populates INtools with the definitions for DeltaV I/O card types and Foundation Fieldbus devices.
Next, engineers use INtools for system design, including assigning control system tags to I/O channels, creating loops and wiring connections and performing related tasks.
I/O card and device data relevant to the DeltaV system is then exported.
The DeltaV system provides a reconciliation utility to validate the INtools data before importing into the DeltaV database.
DeltaV configuration in the operating plant is easily modified for ongoing engineering and expansion, making automation documentation more complete, accurate and current.
For engineering groups designing DeltaV systems, the INtools integration eliminates re-keying data and provides a verified and accurate data repository ready for handover to the plant owner.
