Instrumentation "At Home" day in Cork
An Emerson Open day, featuring Seminars and an Exhibition, will be held at the Great Southern Hotel, Cork Airport, from 0930 to 1730 on 28 September 2005
The conference in Cork in October was attended by 120 people over the two days.
Joe Hoare, Sales Manager for Emerson in Ireland, was delighted with the attendance: all parts of the Irish pharmaceutical industry were represented, and delegates also came from the UK, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland - all keen to hear the experiences gained in recent major investments in the industry in Ireland.
The presentations made primarily described the expertise gained in applying Emerson DeltaV digital automation systems to current projects.

Bristol-Myers Squibb has a new plant nearing completion on a 45 acre site near Dublin Airport, and Pfizer discussed the approach to batch manufacture adopted on the OSP4 plant in Cork.
All the lecturers agreed on the importance of taking every opportunity to benchmark the approach adopted against that taken in other plants, and events such as Manufacturing Excellence were welcomed as an opportunity to promote such exchanges between colleagues across the industry.
As well as training seminars, presentations by experienced Emerson managers sketched the future developments planned for new releases of the DeltaV digital automation system.
The audience was also keen to hear of the use of the Micro Motion "Elite" high accuracy (0.1 percent of rate) Coriolis mass flowmeter, for on site validation equipment.
The next conference in the Manufacturing Excellence series will take place in June 2004 in the Midlands.
The interest and success of this Pharmaceutical event in Cork has brought forward plans for other industry specific conferences in 2004.
