Achieving these two important goals requires precise control of temperature during the blade manufacturing process Within heat treatment furnaces temperature control is needed for making the steel which is used to make the razor blades: it is also needed in annealing and end tempering furnaces

Eurotherm controllers are used in all these applications plus in the injection moulding process for the razor body and in special purpose printing machines.
Supermax asked Eurotherm to provide the temperature control for their uniquely designed production machines.
"By using Eurotherm controllers, accurate PID control performance has been maintained.
This has provided Supermax with the high standard of temperature accuracy and uniformity demanded by the company.
As a result, their production facilities worldwide maintain a consistent high quality which in turn reduces scrap and increases productivity", said Kalpesh Desai, Eurotherm Sales Manager in India.
Supermax is headquartered in Mumbai with manufacturing facilities in a number of locations including Hyderabad.
They produce 10 Million conventional double sided razors and 1.2 million disposable razors per day.
These are produced for both local and export markets including UK, USA and Europe.
The razors are marketed under different brand names worldwide but sales are second only to Gillette worldwide.
In total, Eurotherm have supplied two hundred and fifty 3216 PID temperature controllers and four hundred and sixty single phase thyristor units to Supermax together with other products.
Supermax are establishing further production facilities in Mexico, Bangladesh and the Czech Republic and will be supplying all the manufacturing machines for these sites from their Mumbai sites utilising Eurotherm instrumentation.
