Energy efficiency programme at Anglian
Water
The Farrer Consulting Energy Team have successfully completed surveys on the four sites that Anglian Water chose for a trial programme, looking at energy savings
Three of the sites were recommended as not warranting further investigations on a savings potential basis, whilst Bedford STW was put forward to the client as having the potential for viable cost/energy savings The Energy Efficiency Team is targeting energy savings on two fronts:
1) Peak tariff lopping or load shifting on clean water sites pumping to high level.
2) Pump/blower efficiencies and optimisation on waste water sites.
The Energy Team have a programme of work targeting 200 clean water pumping sites and 50 waste water/sewage treatment plants.
The cost saving potential to the client is believed to be in the region of GBP650k on clean water sites and approximately GBP1,600,000 on waste water sites.
