The system is designed to talk with DeviceNet, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus DP/PA, AS-i BUS, and HART.
It uses a desktop PC with configuration software loaded on it and an Ethernet network connection to talk to each of the different gateways.
Products from the following manufacturers were used for this project: Pyramid Solutions (DeviceNet Gateway), National Instruments (Foundation Fieldbus Gateway), InterlinkBT (AS-i Bus Gateway), Siemens (Profibus Gateway), and ABB (HART Communication Module).
The panel is designed to allow the technician to directly connect pre-made communication cables to the receptacles on the side of the enclosure to the device that needs to be configured.
All power supplies and terminating resistors for each of the networks are located inside the enclosure so no other wiring connections need to be made to the configured devices.
