FCI has received approval for its precision FlexSwitch FLT93 flow/level/temperature series switch with dual port enclosure from the EEC KEMA organisation for use in potentially explosive environments

Fluid Components Intl, a global manufacturer of mass flow instrumentation, has received approval for its precision FlexSwitch FLT93 flow/level/temperature series switch with dual port enclosure from the EEC KEMA organization for use in potentially explosive environments classified as Ex II 2G Eexd IIC T4.

The thermal mass FLT Flow Switch features a unique design that can perform flow or level sensing along with temperature measurement simultaneously.

The FLT93 FexSwitch circuitry has 2 independent 6 amp relays for precise switch point setting along with 2 voltage outputs; one for flow and one for temperature monitoring.

This innovative instrument is built to comply with process industry precision requirements as a flow switch or a point level and interface sensor in liquid, gas or foam.

Applications for these switches include flow switch pump protection, valve leakage detection, chemical additive verification and safety shower flow notification.

In level wet/dry detection, sump level detection, high/low level alarm /control, interface control in separation vessels, foam and sediment interface control, and agitation detection.

The FLT features a wide set-point range, which varies according to service media (liquid, gas or foam), beginning from 0.01 to 3 SFPS (0.003 to 0.9 SMPS) in water-based liquids.

It is hydrostatically proof pressure tested to 3500 psig [240 barg] at 70degF (21C).

Derated with temperature, the maximum operation service recommended is 2350 psig [162 barg] at 500degF (260C).

Higher ratings are available with special construction and test certification.

Serving critical process instrumentation needs worldwide, FCI has an established reputation for designing and manufacturing precision mass flow, level and temperature instrumentation.

The company has placed over 200,000 units in the field since 1964, covering the full range of liquid, gas and slurry processes for flow/no flow detection, mass flowmetering, liquid level interface, temperature measurement, flow conditioning and more.

Fluid Components Intl is a global company committed to meeting the needs of its customers through innovative solutions to the most challenging requirements for sensing, measuring and controlling air, gas, liquid, flow, level and temperature.
