By establishing the Fieldbus Forum, the Fieldbus Foundation is continuing its tradition of openly sharing knowledge and experience related to fieldbus technology.
The fora provide an environment where members can participate in technology development teams, as well as exchange new ideas, tech tips, user feedback, event announcements and other useful information.
According to Fieldbus Foundation Marketing Specialist Joe Conklin, the Fieldbus Forum will enable Foundation fieldbus technology experts, end users, product suppliers and others around the world to interact within an open, web-based community.
"The Fieldbus Fora make it easy for those with an interest in Foundation fieldbus to find answers to their questions about the technology, and learn from the experiences of their counterparts across the globe", said Conklin.
"The fora are designed with a number of content-rich features, and at the same time, provide convenient, easy-to-use global community access".
Visitors to the Fieldbus Foundation website have two methods for accessing the Fieldbus Forum: a feature-limited access for the general public, and an enhanced access for registered members.
To become a member of the Fieldbus Forum, go to consult the website and follow the simple registration instructions.
The Fieldbus Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation consisting of nearly 200 leading process and manufacturing automation companies worldwide whose major purpose is to provide an open and neutral environment for the development of a single, international, interoperable fieldbus.
In this environment, end users, manufacturers, universities and research organisations are working together to develop the technology, provide development tools, support and training, coordinate field trials and demonstrations, and enable product interoperability.
