The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the release of its new AT-446 'H1 Starter Kit', a complete, cost-effective solution for automation equipment suppliers seeking a 'Fast Track to Fieldbus'

The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the release of its new AT-446 Foundation fieldbus 'H1 Starter Kit', a complete, cost-effective solution for automation equipment suppliers seeking a 'Fast Track to Fieldbus' The starter kit is designed to help suppliers accelerate their H1 fieldbus device development projects

The first all-in-one package of its kind, the AT-446 H1 Starter Kit includes all of the tools and documentation needed to develop H1 devices, compliant with the open, industry-standard Foundation fieldbus protocol.

The starter kit is a complete development kit in a value-based starter package offering 35 percent savings over separate, individually purchased components.

According to Fieldbus Foundation Marketing Specialist Joe Conklin, the Foundation fieldbus AT-446 H1 Starter Kit is a valuable asset for controls and instrumentation companies that want to take advantage of the growing global demand for Foundation technology.

"By assembling this convenient starter kit, the Fieldbus Foundation has made it easy for suppliers to jump start their H1 product development programmes and engage the expanding fieldbus market," said Mr Conklin.

"There is no better resource for fieldbus device developers than our new kit".

The Foundation fieldbus AT-446 H1 Starter Kit features an all-inclusive test tool environment for the intermediate device developer.

The kit contains a word-searchable CD copy of the most recent Foundation fieldbus specifications, including the device function block specs; the Device Description Tokenizer Kit; a one-year subscription to the Device Description Registered Library and Tokenizer for development of DD files; an H1 Interoperability Test Kit (ITK) and 16 hours of expert consulting.

This package includes the tools suppliers need to immediately engage Foundation fieldbus device development.

User requirements for the Foundation fieldbus AT-446 H1 Starter Kit include: Pentium class processor, Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP operating system and 500MB of available hard drive space.

The Foundation fieldbus AT-446 H1 Starter Kit will be available from 2 April 2004.
