Major fieldbus event in Western Canada
The Fieldbus Foundation in Western Canada will conduct a major Foundation fieldbus informational event on Thursday and Friday, June 9-10 at SAIT, in Calgary
The Fieldbus Foundation, in partnership with the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), today announced that its End User Council (EUC) - Western Canada will conduct a major Foundation fieldbus informational event on Thursday, June 9, and Friday, June 10, 2005, at SAIT, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada The EUC conference will be hosted at the SAIT modern facility, enabling local and international Foundation fieldbus experts, together with end users from across Canada, to share their experiences

FF Interoperability Testing Kit automation tool
The Fieldbus Foundation has released an Interoperability Testing Kit automation tool, developed for device manufacturers to accelerate the process of preparing fieldbus products for registration
A high level of attendance is expected for this event.
Scheduled end user presentation topics include: developing an integrated fieldbus architecture for the Canadian Natural Resources 'Horizon Oil Sands' project; and the methodology used by Nexen, to work with two owner-operated companies and two engineering firms to implement Foundation fieldbus.
On Thursday, June 9, the Fieldbus Foundation and SAIT will present a half-day, 'a la carte' style workshop covering a choice of fieldbus-related topics.
Other activities include a presentation on Foundation fieldbus economics, laboratory tours and tabletop exhibits.
The day programme will conclude with a reception featuring keynote addresses by Irene Lewis, SAIT president and CEO, and also a prominent end user.
Richard Timoney, Fieldbus Foundation president and CEO, will deliver a recap and closing comments.
Activities on Friday, June 10, include a panel discussion consisting of leading fieldbus experts and major end users who will discuss their experiences with Foundation technology.
Tabletop exhibits and end user presentations will also be offered.
End User Council-Western Canada Co-Chairman Ian Verhappen expects attendees to leave the EUC meeting fully informed about the latest Foundation fieldbus news.
"With foundation staff members on hand bringing everyone up to date on the latest developments, plus end users sharing their experiences using the technology, we should be able to address any and all questions for anyone considering getting on the fast track to fieldbus."
