Major FF technology gathering planned
for Calgary
The Fieldbus Foundation today announced that its End User Council (EUC) - Western Canada meeting and workshop will be held 9-10 June 2005, in Calgary, Alberta
The End User Council (EUC) - Western Canada meeting and workshop will be highlighted by a welcoming reception featuring keynote addresses by two recognized process industry leaders: Irene Lewis, president and CEO, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT); and John Myer, vice president, in-situ, Suncor Energy Irene Lewis arrived at SAIT, a leading Canadian institute of advanced technology, in 1998 with a distinguished educational background spanning 40 years, in three provinces and two continents

The Fieldbus Foundation EUC conference, co-sponsored by SAIT and held at its facility in Calgary, will enable local and international Foundation fieldbus experts, together with end users from across Canada, to share their experiences.
Tabletop exhibits showcasing vendors Foundation fieldbus products and services will also be on display.
Scheduled end user presentation topics include: developing an integrated fieldbus architecture for Canadian Natural Resources Horizon Oil Sands project; and the methodology used by Nexen, to work with two owner-operated companies and two engineering firms to implement Foundation fieldbus.
On Thursday, June 9, the Fieldbus Foundation and SAIT will present a half-day, 'a la carte' style workshop covering a choice of fieldbus-related topics.
Other activities include a presentation on Foundation fieldbus economics, laboratory tours and tabletop exhibits.
The day programme will conclude with a welcoming reception.
Activities on Friday include a panel discussion consisting of leading fieldbus experts and end users who will discuss their experiences with Foundation technology.
Tabletop exhibits and end user presentations will also be offered.
