The Fieldbus Foundation UK National Marketing Committee has announced the latest venue for its current series of UK end user seminars: Grangemouth in Scotland

The next FF UK National event is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 27th November 2007 at the Inchyra Grange Hotel, near Grangemouth, Scotland, from 0900-1200 This seminar is free to attend and is specifically targeted to appeal to an audience of current or prospective end users, contractors, specifiers and implementers of Foundation fieldbus technology

With its theme "Changing the Playing Field", the seminar will reveal how Foundation fieldbus technology unifies process integrity, business intelligence, and open, scalable integration as part of a single, plant-wide solution.

Widely used in the process industries, Foundation fieldbus technology provides an automation infrastructure for operational excellence.

Presentations on each of the elements of the Fieldbus Foundation infrastructure management model will take place throughout the morning:.

* Foundation technology provides a high degree of business intelligence at the infrastructural level through client/server technology and supports business processes such as production management, asset management and enterprise level applications.

* Foundation technology provides extensive diagnostics and enhanced capabilities for tracking, tracing, validation and regulatory compliance.

* Process Integrity: Foundation technology ensures that the network remains operational and control in the field is enabled through the use of its extensive function block structure.

* The new Foundation safety instrumented functions (SIF) concept is set to revolutionise safety and critical control systems.

* Open, Scaleable Integration: Foundation technology offers unlimited scalability and can be implemented on the smallest to the largest process automation system.

Its openness and non-reliance on a particular operating system or supplier platform makes it easy to adopt to new standards.

Refreshments will be available throughout the morning and all attendees are invited to stay for a complimentary lunch at the hotel following the presentations.

John S Hartley, Chairman of the Fieldbus Foundation UK marketing committee, is pleased with the success of the UK seminar series to date.

"The UK marketing committee is taking its seminars to venues right across the UK.

Seminars have already taken place in the North East and North West of England and, after the event in Scotland, we will be going to Ireland, Wales and the South of England in the next few months".

He added, "The presentations evolve as the market evolves - our presentations have a new, highly relevant focus for today's enterprise - how Foundation fieldbus provides an automation infrastructure for operational excellence!".
